This farmhouse-style micro home was designed by Crisp Architects, located in Bridgewater, a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut. The dwelling encompasses one bedroom, and one bathroom, with a heated square footage of 650 square feet inside and 350 square feet of porch living space; living large on a small footprint. The cost was $275,000.
The homeowners commissioned the architects to reimagine a guest house on their property that was in need of repairs. The goal of this project was to create a practical home that would encompass all of the necessary amenities such as a kitchen, bedroom, and full bathroom, yet still remain within the constraints of the available space on their property.
Overall, this small home is bright, comfortable, and just big enough to live in, but not too big to easily take care of. All of the homeowner’s goals were achieved in just 650 square feet of living space.
A front porch provides the guest house with wonderful farmhouse charm, and interior built-ins and detailing give it a “homey” feel.
What We Love: This small farmhouse provides a wonderful floor plan that feels spacious despite its 650 square foot layout. A large and welcoming porch is the perfect spot for a morning coffee or watching an evening sunset. The interior feels light and airy thanks to the high ceilings and abundance of natural light. Overall, the architect did a fabulous job of creating a cozy atmosphere where guests may never wish to leave!
