Man charged with taking $5K in home improvement scam

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WTAJ) — Police have arrested a person who allegedly took $5,000 for a property advancement challenge that he in no way did.
Ronald David Snyder, 59, was arrested, following reportedly having funds to re-side a man’s home in August 2021.
According to law enforcement files, the victim reported that Synder wanted $5,000 for supplies and yet another $4,200 for the labor. The property owner agreed and paid out $5,000 for resources but Synder in no way returned to do any of the function.
The house owner contacted the firm the siding was meant to be requested from and was explained to that Synder experienced under no circumstances requested any resources on behalf of the property owner. Immediately after finding out, the target contacted the police. Synder then contacted the victim asking for far more time to get the dollars back to him, as he knew the police were being wanting for him.
Synder had his preliminary arraignment Wednesday, April 27, and is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, May possibly 3.

Synder was charged with felony theft and is now out on unsecured bail.
