Rock Legend John Fogerty Selling Exceptional Encino Estate for $9M

The rocker John Fogerty is singing a quick goodbye to his Encino estate. He’s asking $9 million for the melodious mansion, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman purchased the property in 2019 for $6.7 million. Custom-built in 2016, the home features 9,000 square feet of living space, with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Since the purchase, Variety pointed out, the previously powder-blue, shingled home has undergone quite a visual change. Exteriors are now a dark stained wood, and the home features a dramatic, two-story entry. The overall vibe of the home has transitioned to rocker chic.

An open-concept layout features a dining room, bar, and a formal living room with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace. A lounge and wet bar is done up in shades of deep blue, and a trippy accent wall surrounds a fireplace. Built-in, back-lit cabinets showcase a liquor collection.

The all-new kitchen features a geo white-quartz stone island, breakfast bar, and glass cabinets, along with a motorized window that opens to the backyard. The kitchen adjoins a family room with an entertainment wall. From the great room, a motorized glass door disappears, extending the living area outside.

On the second floor, double doors open to the master suite, with a sitting room, two fireplaces, two walk-in closets, and two bathrooms.

The large lot includes a pool with a waterfall, a spa, and fire pit. A covered lounge area looks out to the backyard.

The home also features a roof deck. Other details include a home theater in a chic black and gray palette, plus a pantry for additional storage.

The gated estate includes a three-car garage and driveway, with room for guest parking. The home, designed for celebrity living, is secured and operated by an Elan home automation system.

According to Dirt, the musician purchased the home but never lived there, choosing instead to upgrade the place to its new glam state, and then sell to a buyer willing to pay for the ritzy redesign.

The area has become even more alluring for celebs. Cast members of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” may want to start a spinoff in Encino, since Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, and Teddi Mellencamp have all set up shop in the Valley.

Founded in the 1960s, Creedence Clearwater Revival, for which Fogerty fronted as singer, guitarist, and lead songwriter, garnered nine Top 10 singles and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Now 75, Fogerty has since had a successful solo career, with hits like “The Old Man Down the Road” and “Centerfield.”

Josh and Matthew Altman with Douglas Elliman represent the listing.
